Guest guest
Hi , I too suffer from a lot of foot pain, I have flat feet also, I have a pain that is almost like the bones are snapping. Plus swolling, my ankles are really bad too. I finally had my family Dr. put me on a duiretic to get rid of excess water, it really helped with the swolling but not the pain, I wear expensive orthotics in my shoes, and I wear New Balance walking shoes, wear good shoes, I start my morning by stretching my feet before getting out of bed, I also have a night brase to stretch my plantar faciatitis, that helps also, and when I sit at the desk to be on the computer, ice packs, I still have to take pain meds during the day, I suggest you start out with a good podiatrist, I am seeing mine this week. Hope things get better for you, Oh I also soak my feet in epson salt as well, and rubbinbg them with a mint lotion also helps. I'm only 47 myself and I am on Enbrel, MTX,prednisone, mobic. , Vicodin and I have pain every day. Jean <chellchell07@...> wrote: Hi Everyone! This is a new symptom for me and because of this problem is why my Rheumy diagnosed me with RA. I usually have pain in my hands, fingers, wrists, Knees and hips but my feet hurting is totally new. I also have Fibromyalgia but this pain is in the joints not the muscles and is way different from my Fibro pain. Any suggestions besides taking pain pills (which I am doing)would be appreciated. My feet do feel swollen also. Arghh! I feel like I am falling apart and I'm not even 40 yet (will be in October, lol!). Thanks for any responses. Hugs, S. Guest guest
Oh yes, I have very bad pain in my feet. My joints are deteriorating, and they are really looking ugly. My right ankle is very bad, and in the near future will need surgery. I sometimes soak my feet and try to get a massage once in awhile. I have to wear an ace bandage 2-3 times a week. Sorry I can't be more helpful, I hope someone has some good tips, take care Tawny
Guest guest
I found a peppermint lotion awhile back, and now can't find it. It was amazing! If anyone can find lotion w/ peppermint it's worth a try. Tawny:)
Guest guest
I soak my feet and try to wear comfortable tennis shoes most of the time. I also use tylenol arthritis pretty much and loratab if it gets really bad. Joy <chellchell07@...> wrote: Hi Everyone! Guest guest
I can sympathize. My feet hurt all the time - with or without shoes. But I have found that wearing slightly larger shoes helps some, and changing shoes often - may wear sandals in the morning and sneakers in the afternoon. Or the other way around. It seems like the change is what makes the difference. I have some Earth Shoes (from Walmart) that are amazingly comfortable! And they have straps with velcro that I can loosen or tighten during the day as needed. Hope you can get some relief! I like the others' suggestions about the foot massages, too! Guest guest
My ankles, feet & toes swell & hurt, I swear I can feel the bones cracking or breaking. I have to stay off of them & not wear shoes. I put my feet up - elevated - when I can. If I have to put shoes on, say to go out side, I have some cushy slides that I wear. --- In , " " <chellchell07@...> wrote: > Hi Everyone! > I'm new at dealing with RA and I was wondering what others with RA do > when their feet or toe joints hurt? Guest guest
Hi , My feet hurt so bad I cry sometimes when I walk on them - especially in the morning. Rubbing them down with Vicks Salve and putting socks on them at night seems to help the most - I know it sounds crazy but it does help- an old remedy from my Grandmother (I called her Mama Webb) - anyway - that is one of the things that has helped me.... I hope you find relief soon. Rose <chellchell07@...> wrote: Hi Everyone! I'm new at dealing with RA and I was wondering what others with RA do when their feet or toe joints hurt? Guest guest
Before I was on my MTX and Prednisone, I just walked really slowly. My husband actually said to me one morning, why are you walking like a Geisha Girl. Yeah...I ignored him most of that day. You just do what you can to get around and get down stairs. Just know your limits and take it easy. You should probably call your rhumy and get some new meds. > > Hi Everyone! > I'm new at dealing with RA and I was wondering what others with RA do > when their feet or toe joints hurt? Guest guest
Hi , I had horrible pain in my feet so bad that I could not walk on them some times. I was wearing two and three pairs of socks to help cushion them when I walked. It felt like the bones were going to break and come thru the bottom of my feet. I went to a podiatrist and first he gave me some shots of cortisone in my feet to get the pain under control. They took a mold of my feet and made me some orthotics for my shoes. I had tried the ones you buy in the store with no help. They are the best thing that I could have done. I can walk normal again not like I am walking on glass.I still have some pain but mostly when I over do it. The orthos are a little pricey but I have had mine for three years. They look almost new still and should get at least a few more years out of them. Hope this helps. Betty <chellchell07@...> wrote: Hi Everyone! Guest guest
I guess I was hoping that when my dr puts me on enbral, that it would stop. I thought it was just the RA effects. I'm seeing my dr today & will ask. I KNOW how its hard to work. I had finally found what work I was successful at - Retail - & now, with my feet/toes being in such pain - forget it! > > Hi Everyone! > > I'm new at dealing with RA and I was wondering what others with RA > do > > when their feet or toe joints hurt? Guest guest
My dr thinks/hopes that the pains will stop for me within a month after starting Enbrel. I have MTX, Prednisone, & Plaquenil now. She also said if after a month I was still in pain then to call & she'd give me a shot. > > > Hi Everyone! > > > I'm new at dealing with RA and I was wondering what others with > RA > > do > > > when their feet or toe joints hurt? Guest guest
Lately, I've had what I think is nerve pain in my feet, but not along the bottom where I've heard it's more common. My pain is on the top of my foot and runs from my ankle into my small toes (not the big toe). Do any of you have this type of pain? I'm trying to figure out if it's nerve pain (I do have sensory neuropathy in my legs) or due to arthritis in the small joints in my foot. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you,
Guest guest
,.....I do have neuropathy pain, and I take Neurontin for it. It takes awhile to work, and to get the right dose, but it's working for me. I also have pain on top of my foot, found out from the foot doc, it's spurs. It is very painful, and will eventually have to do something about it, Tawny > > Lately, I've had what I think is nerve pain in my feet, but not along > the bottom where I've heard it's more common.
