Guest guest
I too am waiting for an order from myrxforless! Was a large order also as I got my BP med's and some antibiotic's.The armour was 2 gr ,100 tabs for 42.95. Been a little over 2 weeks now, next time I might go the internationalpharmacy.com route if they have the express mail. My daughter orders from overturepharmacy and gets it in 4 days. Shirley Re: Re: (gentle) started taking natural thyroid a m... Hi Gentle, I haven't had any trouble getting doctors to prescribe armour at all. I wish you could find one too because you would save money and being a military family (you did say that didn't you?)..I am sure you could use some extra $$. (thank-you for serving our country) .I've had 2 doctors one retired and now I'm with the second one. Maybe because I was already doing well on armour that the 2nd dr. didn't hassle me with the prescription I don't know. I checked out the myrxfor less website and they are very expensive compared to kroger pharmacy. I'm getting (and I think anyone could get if they ordered from them) 2 grains (120mg)100 tabs for 24.78 (if you buy 360 days worth) the one grain would be less than that and the equivalent on the myrxforless is 56.00 (100 count of 60mg) that is a 100% + markup over what I am paying....I wish there was a more reasonable alternative. the difference between $56 myrx and 24.78 kroger is 31.22. since I'd have to order 3 x's per year that would mean I would have 93.00 to pay for a doctor visit, which was really what I was trying to avoid. What a bummer....but I am happy for your Gentle...you will love the Armour...I just found that I needed 200- 240 mg to make me feel good and the dr prescribes only 120 mg. argh! :-) Anyway....thanks again for your input...I find I can't wait to check my email to learn more from everybody here! Guest guest
Thanks Lynda...the more sources we can find the better....they should give you a volume discount...but I guess we are lucky to not have to have a prescription. Guest guest
Hi, Loriann, thank you for saying " thank you! " I was actually in the Army myself, was a Gulf War Veteran. I think I will load up a pic of myself from that time so you guys can see... I think the Army docs are actually bound by regulations that tell them they can not prescribe stuff until the TSH rises above a certain level. Army doctors are much more bound by regulations and rules of the command structure than any civilian docs. It's like the very worst HMO in the world - the command structure tries very hard to save money. And since Army docs can't be sued, there is no incentive to treat patients....doesn't matter if you let a bunch of hypo patients remain hypo. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my plan will work. Heres my plan...I am going to take the Armour for awhile, figure out what dose is best for me. That way the Army doc can't say " but you've only been taking a supplement it's not the real thing. " And I will already have a dose to say, this is what I want, this is what works best for me. At that point, the doc will give me lecture and say I must be dangerously hyperthyroid because I've dosed myself and will probably order lots of lab tests. I am fairly certain the lab tests will all come back with what the doc will consider normal levels. (If they don't, If I have a TSH of say 1.00 and the doc says oh too low then I probably will have to keep dosing myself and not count on docs.) If the labs come back with normal (to the doc) values, then he or she will have to say, yup, looks like you are doing fine on this dose (I hope) and will then give me a prescription for that dose. I hope. I hope they will not be bound by command rules to have to prescribe synthroid only. If the command says, synthroid only, then I am again forced to buy meds on my own. Anyhoo, that's my plan... Gentle
Guest guest
Hello Gentle, I do appreciate your service....you all put your LIFE on the line (even more so or similar to policemen) and don't get similar pay to even them. My hubby was in (marines) at the end of vietnam and we just found out last year that he could get free veterens health care..well bummer now because they say they are taking funding from this type of care and now we will be charged for it. Oh well....knowlege is king and we were clueless for so many years! That sounds like a good plan Gentle to work with your doctor on....It feels so nice having some control and some options in life. Looking forward to seeing how you feel on the armour! Bless you and your family, Loriann > Hi, Loriann, thank you for saying " thank you!
