Guest guest
Hi ann, What an exciting time for you! I know not everyone on this listserv belongs to ADA, but if you do, definitely join the NE (Nutrition Entrepreneurs) DPG! Probably the easiest thing to suggest is go to a few resources: First, go to my website, particularly to the 'resources' page. Go to the section for business articles. Naturally, I would also encourage you to check out my book, " Just Jump " (http://www.californiabasedpublishing.com), too. I coach health and fitness professionals who want to start a business, so everything is geared towards that end. Next, go onto NE's website to see what resources are available. Link is http://www.nutritionentrepreneurs.org/index.php. Go into the section that says 'products and services'. Also check out the " frequently asked questions " on the home page, too. Finally, check out RD411.com. Could be a lot of very useful resources for you, there. Your questions are very basic, which means it's first time for you to sit down and imagine what your business will look like in 1, 5, 20 years from now. Determine your vision. Where will you see clients, what services do you want to offer, what do you want to become known for? Then you need to clarify who your ideal client is and how will you reach them. Then identify your unique essence, known as competitive advantage. Why will people come to you? There's a reason, but you need to tap into that so you can capitalize on it in order to DRAW those people to you. In my opinion, these are essentials before you then work on the next essential, which is putting together that (dreaded) business plan and marketing plan. Good luck to you and enjoy the process you are about to enter into! I will mention that I offer a free, 30-minute collaborative coaching interview for people who want to see if they're ready for coaching.
