Guest guest
have any of you been told after having a pva that didn't work, that a cardioversion would get you back to sinus rhythm, and that THEN that previous pva would work? Does this makes any sense to you? Especially 4 months AFTER the unsuccessful PVA? I was in chronic afib ever since diagnosed last May. Had 2 unsuccessful cardioversions---(1 worked for 5 min. the other for 1-1/2 days). then the PVA---I was in & out of afib for 2 days in the hosppital, but for sure back in chronic afib a day or 2 later. the PE had said don't worry, that it takes a month to work, so I didn't worry. I called the office after that month to ask if maybe it still may work later than the 2 months. Was given an office appt to see Dr---a month later. That's when he said that because my heart is in afib, that the scar tissue formed was not able to prevent them (I thought that was the whole idea!)--so he suggested having a cardiversion which would convert me to sinus rhythm, and THEN the scar tissue would prevent the afib signals from going through. Has ANYBODY heard of this? Does it make any sense to any of you? Have ANY of you had a cardioversion following an unsuccessful PVA? I really would love to hear from any of you that have experienced this-- negative or positive comments. I am skeptical.
