Guest guest
My husband had shingles awhile ago and, especially because they were on his forehead (near his eyes) he was given the anti-viral RIGHT AWAY. On the other hand, my daughter's BIL got shingles (in the U.K.) and his doctor (or houseman, or whatever you can them) did not approve the use of the anti-viral and he suffered quite a lot. You will be much happier if you get the anti-viral! Penny BKnott3018@... wrote: > Hi Folks, > I'm sorry to say I may have shingles. Guest guest
Hi Barbara... I can only tell you what I know about shingles from when Ty had them over a yr ago... he came home from school saying that his chest had some bites on it...so I looked and yes indeed he had insect looking bites ...on one side....and they hurt he said... didn't know what they were.... they continued to get worse so we called his doctor and he said to bring him in...it was shingles...found out then that his music teacher had them and came to school after he thought he was better...being that Ty is so immuno supressed he got them...they were very painful...couldn't stand to have his shirt on...They admitted him and put him in isolation...more for him I think....and put him on IV antibiodics for a couple of days...they got better and we came home.... hope that helps some... take care and talk soon Luanne Ty's mom

Hi Luanne, I'm hoping it might be a false alarm as no spots have appeared so far anyway. Its still painful and the skin is hypersensitive, but I am having a lot of pain from my bile ducts at present so it is masking the other pain to a certain degree. So hears keeping my fingers crossed. Guest guest
Barbara, Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I think it's time for everyone here to get a large break! (And not in a bone either! I have found that you need to be specific when wishing/praying for things.) (-:

Guest guest
I think it's time for everyone here to get a large break! Hi , I wish I could but I just can't travel anywhere in my present state. In fact I haven't been away from this (except overnight for hosp. tests) for nearly 3 yrs. A nice seaside holiday would be nice, warm seas, sunshine and just lazing about and having someone else do the chores! :~) Barbara (UK)
