Guest guest
Wow, 130mcg of thyroid, 90 capsules, for less than I'm paying for 90 mg of armour for 30 tablets! Anyone know if this is equivalent to armour? I ordered the 90 tablets plus some borage oil for a fairly resonable price. I m thinking I can supplement the armour my doc gives me with some of this otc stuff and see if I do better. Guest guest
Just for the record... I was on Nutri-Meds thyroid for a whole year and did great.. then I got a chance to get a generic for a really cheap price and went with that... and right now I'm using up my remaining stash of Nutri-meds. It's just a bit less potent than the Twin-caps generic that a friend was able to send from Mexico... but still good stuff, in my opinion. Plan on taking 25 to 30 percent more of the Nutri-meds.. it is slightly weaker, but still use common sense. For anyone that can't afford to see a doc to get a prescription, or can't afford to import... or doesn't have a credit or debit card (Nutri-meds can accept mail order as well as online orders)... well... lets just say we have more options.... I prefer tabs, myself I can split those and adjust my doses and multi-dose that way. Guest guest
Nutri-meds is slightly weaker... I'm still 2 1/2 on Generic Natural..... But I came out of the hyper just fine... dipped a bit low and went hypo coming out of it... but now I'm right back where I need to be.... Just using up the Nutri-meds before I break seal on the next bottle of Generic. I'm going 3 grain one day and 3 /12 grain the next.. for my 3 1/4 average.. and I've hit that little sweet spot where my body is saying we're cool. Guest guest
Ok, next question. I think the nutri-meds porcine thyroid said it was 130 mcg per tablet. Is that the same as 2 grains of Armour per tablet? Joy «:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«:*´`³¤³´`*:» -- Re: Re: Nutri-Meds Thanks! Armour's 2 grains is 120 mgs. And the problem with comparing is that we don't exactly know what amount of T4 and T3 etc. is in Nutri-meds and whether it's consistent. It could be, but we don't know. So with Nutri-Meds, you would need to treat to symptoms. Janie

It's so devoid of thyroid hormone, I don't think it compares to Armour at all. That is why you can buy NutriMed in the USA whereas Armour you have to buy off shore without a prescription. Guest guest
It's slightly less potent. I do the same on 2 1/2 grain, 5 quarter tabs, of Generic Natural Thyroid (Twin Caps is the brand, I believe) or 3 1/4 grain of Nutri-Meds, 6 quarter tabs one day, 7 quarter tabs the next - alternating. Before adding the Selenium and adrenal support and the other supplements I was doing 2 tabs of Nutri-Meds (split for multi-dosing) every day.. so it makes a big difference to add the correct supplements to get a better utilization of the thyroid meds. I've not had the opportunity to try Armour brand, so I can't compare to them. So far I've not experienced any potency difference from bottle to bottle of Nutri-Meds... just that they are a bit less potent then the other brand. Nutri-Meds is a nutritional supplement sold in the US. The Generic is a prescription grade manufactured and distributed out of New York that a friend is able to purchase in Mexico for me and ship up. So, anyone thinking of picking up some Nutri-Meds thyroid, or any other thyroid glandular, to boost up your intake when your doc is not doing it... keep in mind that it's darn close to what your are taking. It is thyroid glandular and not just a sugar pill. I would strongly suggest that your quarter that tabs.. that would be slightly less than 1/2 grain, and use that as your 'boost it a wee bit' dose.. and follow all the common sense guidelines about not too much too fast.. and giving yourself 4 to 6 weeks to see how your body is reacting before adding any more. I'm not a doc.. I'm just me... I've been self medicating, by symptoms, for about a year and a half.. so some of this I've learned the hard way. Guest guest
I was on Nutri-meds for a whole year. Almost to the day.. After nearly 3 years of no meds at all... My thyroid was completely killed off by RAI.... so the improvements I showed it that first 12 months was solely due to the Nutri-meds. I multi-dosed... one quarter to one half tab 6 times a day.. then I got the chance to get the Generic Natural and a phenomenal price and switched to that, that was about 5 months... Now I'm back to Nutri-Meds.. to use these up before I open the next bottle of Generic.... Had a rough spot where I dipped to hypo until I figured out to up the Nutri-Meds a bit.... so, for me... using basals and symptom observation. 3 1/4 grain of Nutri-Meds equals 2 /12 grain of Generic.... I think, no proof, that the key factor is that I mult-dose.. I'm quite a bit bigger than most of you folks, with no thyroid activity (Killed off with RAI almost 14 years ago) and doing great on a much smaller dose. I tried taking the Generic up to three grain.. and went hyper... it was a couple of weeks coming down off of that....
