Hi everbody,

Got my 2nd opinion yesterday! When listening to this

Dr. run down his stats he mentioned that one of his

myomectomies turned into a hysterectomy, his reasoning

for the hysterectomy...the fibroids were extremely

large and a lot of blood loss was involved. He stated

that she was 45 yrs old and knew the possiblity of

hysterectomy due to the extremely large size fibroids

and blood loss(??????) Is this common???? I thought

there were steps to take to prevent blood loss? He

also stated that he has performed over 250

myomectomies with the one turning into a hysterectomy.

Ladies what do you think? I am so confused! I spoke

with Dr. Stringer and he said that " he " could do a

laparoscopic myomectomy. He suggested that I take

Zoladex for a month, bear in mind that my fibroids are

4.4 and 1.6, that isn't that big! Why the Zoladex?

Won't that cause them to shrink and not be seen?

especially the 1.6 or any smaller fibroids that I

might have? Plus the side effects of Zoladex and

Lupron??? No way! Don't Know what to do! Stringer says

that the fibroid is probably not the reason for me

having a m/c and not getting pregnant, but the fibroid

needs to come out! The first Dr. says that the

fibroid is probably the cause because of the location

(right anterior fundus, this is where the egg attaches

and implants, can't attach or implant if there is a

4.4 fibroid competing for blood, the fibroid is more

aggressive) The 2nd Dr. said basically the same as

first but suggest that I do an HSG to see how

distorted my uterus is and if the fibroid is actually

located in the right anterior fundus because this

would cause a problem with implantation. What do you

ladies think about the 2nd Dr. stats? (0ver 250 myos

and one turning into a hysterectomy due to blood

loss.) Help, don't know what to do?? First Dr. said he

performs several a month, when I asked how many again,

he says " several, it's not something that I do

everyday, but I do them " his nurse told me that he is

an excellent microsurgeon. (Of course she is going to

say that!) She also stated that none of his operations

have turned into a hysterectomy. HELP!!!! Thanks in

advanced for your comments! SKY
