I'll fourth that. I used to have that pain going down the right leg, too. I

found it was associated with constipation, which was definitely

fibroid-related. It could be more the placement of the fibroid rather than

its size that is the factor.

Was your UAE painful? I am thinking of having this procedure

done over myo (open abdominal). How did it feel?

I don't take pains too lightly.. I get really scared with

any type of procedures that uses a knife :(

Re: Fibroids and back pain dottie

Dottie

I have definetly had back pain because of fibroids.

4 weeks before my UAE the pain was almost constant and did continue

after UAE for 3 1/2 weeks and has tapered off now but happens

occasional. I had lots of tenderness, soreness, deep aching and

stinging with my fibroid. Finally I am seeing relief of these

symptoms 6 1/2 weeks after UAE. I have had a myomectomy in the past

also. The larger the fibroids get the more chance of them pushing on

other organs and causing more problems and possibly damaging the

other organs. I know the decision is very difficult on what treatment

you choose. I do know the larger the fibroid gets the less options

you will have. Believe me I have been there and am still dealing with

problems now. I wish you the best at getting prompt opinions so that

the treatment you choose will come sooner rather than later.

Sincerely

Patty

Dottie,

I've had back pain because of my fibroids also. I read that the uterus can

throw pain to other areas, if that makes sense.

Patty,

Thanks for your input. It is nice to know that you aren't making up

symptoms in your head. After a while one doesn't know if the discomfort is

real or not.

I will exhaust all areas of testing before I make a decision on what to do

about the fibroids.

Thanks again, Patty
