I got the results on the colonoscopy and I do have Diverticulitis. No surprise there. I have had this for years... This is the one thing that may kill me before anything else can... ugh! I asked him about increasing the Armour dose. He referred back to my TSH tests and said, " Your results are within the normal range... " To which I responded, " The problem with this is that I still have symptoms of Hypothyroid and do not feel well. " The Free T3 and Free T4 that were ordered back in November did not get done (was not charged for them on the bill from the lab). This just makes me furious! What's it going to take? I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I am fed up with catching every stupid " bug " and getting sicker than anybody around me. Up to this point, I have not defied him and changed anything on my own, but I have had it! This is just so stupid... Then he wrote " Depression " on the darned chart and I really went off on him. I may have to start hunting for a new doctor to treat the Thyroid problem.... Inadequate treatment is not what I am asking for, nor is it what I want to pay for, so.... Does anyone know of a good thyroid doc in AZ who accepts Medicare? There is no way I can afford to pay huge fees, so I am kind of stuck. Someone wrote about Bovine adrenal products and Bovine Thyroid. Are these " prescription required " items? Where would I find information on how to dose them if I am already on 120 Armour? Where can I order them? Darn it! Dianne ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
Dratted Doctor... he didn't do what you are paying for him to do..... But.. anyway... the Bovine thyroid glandular is available at Nutri-Meds www.nutri-meds.com it's located in the US and their products are labeled and sold as nutritional supplements so no prescription is required. I love their products and their customer service is outstanding! I found them a year and a half ago when searching for non prescription thyroid..... The also accept mail order payments for those that do not use credit or debit cards. Contact me off list for more info... I contacted them about being able to pass on that info as I have to pay by money order and they've come up with a way to do that... when I got a request for how to do that the first time I contacted them for permission to spread the word to our support group members and they said okay.... Guest guest
Hi, PattiSue, Actually, I live in California, but the nearest city of any size is Palm Springs -- more than three hours away. San Bernardino is probably an hour further along on the I-10. Send the list, please? I get my medical care in AZ because the town is only eight miles from my home. I live on the state line between AZ and CA. Guest guest
Hi, Frannie, Yes I have heard of Dr. Dominisee and would love to go see him, but I cannot afford him and he accepts no insurance at all. Between the labs and the office visit, I would have a bill to pay of over $850 because Thyroid isn't the only problem I live with and they always insist on testing for the other stuff, too. Geez! I am disabled for heaven's sake and living on a pension out here. That is how I got Medicare. I will call my other insurance to see if maybe one of the " top docs " from Shomon's list is also listed as accepting my insurance... Guest guest
Hi, Frannie, Call your insurance carrier and explain that the Endo didn't help you, so you need to switch doctors to the alt. doctor. Perhaps if they are not paying two docs under the same diagnosis, they will begin to cover the new one? One can only ask and hope for a good outcome. Guest guest
Dianne, Or I may get the alt doc to put a different diagnosis. He is not treating the thyroid the endo still is.
