Guest guest
Hello, I am new to your group. I had a hysterectomy about two years ago. I had a very large one, about 8 pounds doctor said. I had basically everything removed but my cervix. I was almost 50 then. My child (I only had one, was already grown). I noticed then that I had many symptoms like severe back pain, huge abdomen, pain in legs, shooting pains in my vagina area also the rectum, trouble urinating and bowel changes (diarrea then constipation), pain in my side (was so large it pushed on my stomach and when I would start eating, it would start my side hurting) also shortness of breath as it was pushing against my lungs and heart. It sort of grew and went entirely on my left side and started back down my right side. It was over a 6 hours surgery and of course, they cut me with a large incision. I was kind of stupid about things. I had NEVER had any surgery before. Always healthy. Last time in hospital was when my son was born. I was not expecting the LONG recovery period that I had. Doctor said it would take at least a year, because they had to push and pull around inside me to get the thing out. (It grew off the uterus). It really took me about a year and half. But I started to feel better and get my normal life back. NOW, after two years, I am AGAIN starting to have symptoms similar to what I had when I had the fibroid. Swelling abdomen, weight gain, shooting pains occasionally in vagina, changes in my urination and bowel, leaking urine again, pretty severe pain in low back and down legs again ( think that covers most of them). NOW I NEED TO KNOW, DO THESE THINGS COME BACK??? Does anyone out there know?? Could something be growing off my cervix to create these problems? Doctor did tell me, that the cavity where tumor removed was so large that she was not sure if it would fill in, and if it did she hoped it was not with hernias. I have no idea what a hernia would feel like. My abdomen is starting to feel hard again, and I can feel a few lumps. Could this be adhesions? Has anyone out there had this problem? I will be very upset (now that I know what it is all about recovering) if I should have to have any surgery again. Can someone help me. I know I need to go to doctor, and I will, I must schedule it, but am busy daily right now taking my elderly father back and forth for radiation and chemotherapy for lung cancer. It is stage 4 and right now, my place I believe is to be there with him, my mother is deceased. Anyway, found this website, and was wondering if someone out there has been thru this, would appreciate knowing. Will check tomorrow. Thank you!! Think I will enjoy this site.
