Oh give me a break. WHERE do docs get this information!!!!!! Thousands of us do it sublingually with NO problems. The big tabs can take 45 minutes to an hour to dissolve. Besides, you don't notice it if you place it between your gums and cheek. Yes, it IS better sublingually. Doing it that way allows the hormones in the tab to go straight to your blood via the millions of little capillaries that line the inner mouth. Going directly to your blood means it bypasses the acids of the stomach and the processing of the liver. And THAT means that you can nearly 100% of what you give yourself sublingually. Additionally, it's another form of a slow release because of the slowness of the dissolving. And be sure and divide your dose to at least twice a day. Guest guest
Oh give me a break. WHERE do docs get this information!!!!!! Thousands of us do it sublingually with NO problems. ****Isn't this disease, and it's problems just the most frustrating thing. Why in Gods name do doctors ACT as if they know what they are talking about? IRRITATION? WHERE? GRRRRR It hit me (again) after reading this specific email; that there are SO many women/men out there suffering because of bafoons like this doc. Armour is not better taken with water or anything else. Sublingually is the very best way to take it. I don't have a problem with docs that don't understand, if they are humble and admit they don't really know all there is to know...........if we had more docs that did that , we sufferers wouldn't have 95% of the problems we have. I just had to vent...I am so frustrated with all the " info " that these docs are giving some of these ladies. Add levoxyl...drop Armour dose? What is up with that???? Who in their right mind would even consider that with her numbers? (Takes me back to 5/6 years ago when I was told the stupidist things by stupid docs, and because of that I lost more than just my health...2 babies, my hair, my muscle tone, my sanity...oh i could go on) ARRRRGGGhhhhh. Ok I feel better now thanks!! Guest guest
, My husband and I both take our Armour sublingually and neither of us has had a problem with irritation. We both have been taking Armour for over 5 months and mulitdose 3x a day so would be seeing irritation by now if it was going to happen.I split my 90mg tablet in half and put each half between my cheek and gum to dissolve. Works like a charm! By splitting my 90mg tab, it takes about a half an hour to dissolve. Dosing sublingually is so nice since it avoids all the absorbsion issues involved with taking the tablet orally. So glad to see that you are using Armour...will look forward to hearing your results. Dusty Question on Sublinqually taking armour? Hi, Day 2 on Armour! when I asked the doctor and pharmacist about taking armour under the tonque, they both said that irritation can occur if I did that, and to take with water as I did the synthroid. It is a pretty big tab. how long does it take to dissolve? I would prefer water, but if it is better, I take sublinqually. Thanks,
Guest guest
I've been taking OTC thyroid glandular and Generic Armour for well over a year sublingually and I've had NO problems at all.. the only thing that I do differently now is that when I brush my teeth I also brush my tongue, top and bottom and the roof of my mouth... I first did that out of concern for my breath, thinking that I might not smell so great from the sublingually use of the meds.. but I found out that by doing that my food tastes zillions of times better so now it's a happy new habit.... The doc was just covering his but 'cause he didn't know... As for how long it takes to dissolve.. I quarter my pills so they are pretty tiny.. they are usually gone in about 30 to 40 minutes... when I was doing half tabs... it was more like 50 minutes... but it's tucked under that tongue and not in the way at all... and I'm quite happy with knowing that my dosing is consistent.. I'm not losing any of the med through binding or poor processing in the stomach or gut (intestines).
