Guest guest
Hi Catarina and EveryOne, I have been reading your posts with interest. It is always great to get a broader perspective. I even went to the Norwegian site you mentioned a few days ago and tried to get a translation but it was not comprehensible when translated on line by machine. Iodine: we need a bit but not too much. Guess we will all have to find out what works for us. In any case it is very helpful to hear what other people experience. I never knew other people got swollen joints and swollen achey thyroid glands from Iodine/Kelp.... good to know. Interesting thyroid hormone contains tyrosine and iodine and yet we are told to also supplement with those two. As said several months ago it is possible to get too much iodine when taking thyroid hormone and iodine supplementation. Thanks everyone!!! No one can understand us, but us,- it is so good to have your friendship, encouragement and support. Happy New Year 2004! Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev >>>>>>When I recently bought a supplement, it said on the box: " Contains kelp and therefore not suitable for persons with thyroid disease " . On a German site on Hashimoto's disease I found the following information (translated from German): " Iodine makes your condition worse and should therefore be avoided by persons with autoimmune thyroid disease " . In Germany there are also thyroid meds containing iodine, but those are not to be prescribed to patients with Hashimoto's. Catarina
