Guest guest
I want to share this. However, I won't be blogging about it because of some work related circumstances. A few weeks ago I overheard an interview for a potential employee. The interviewer was talking with the person and comments came about their appearance, i.e. " you look for professional today. " Call me overly sensitive, but when I looked at the person being interviewed I thought to myself, " Yeah right, you aren't so worried about their professional appearance as you are about their weight. " I could just tell this was what the interviewer was probably indirectly referring to in these comments. Because I have been discriminated against in my professional career about my weight; and yes someone even made a comment about a picture of me on facebook that I took as a dig about my weight; I know I am overly sensitive about this topic. I never expected this person to get hired for this position, my gut was telling emit just wasn't going to happen because of this person's weight. Well, I am pleased to say that my gut steered me wrong on this incident. The person was hired. Although this person seems extremely qualified, I am extrememly pleased that my predisposed impression was wrong about the person doing the interview. It is nice to see that this person was hired for their qualifications and not turned away because of their weight. Just thought I would share.
