Guest guest
It's funny this thread was brought up now. A friend and I were talking about this the other day. Seems he decided to quit distributing for Amway because he said " It was almost religious the way people talked and acted " (in his up line). The conversation began with me making a few disparaging comments about XA in general and he chimed in with that comment. I remember thinking it was odd and I didn't give too much thought about it because I assumed he really didn't know enough about XA to draw that type of correlation. But apparently I was wrong and the thought has crossed other's minds as well. I attended a few Amway Associate meetings (AA meetings that's scary) and I distinctly remember hearing someone saying " Hey this really works if you put the effort into it " Sounds like " Works if you work it " to me. Amway and 12-step >>To me it has always seemed like the blueprint for a multi-level marketing >>or pyramid scheme. Convince someone you have a sure way for them to succeed >>in something or make money, etc. Tell them what to do. If they fail you simply >>explain to them that they're " not working the program " . >Sounds like " Amway " . Yup it suuure does...and it will come as no surprise that you will commonly hear one of the same " catch phrases " at both Amway meetings and stepper meetings. And that's " Stinkin' Thinkin' " . I wonder which scam was the origin of this phrase...? I have read some really interesting and frightening sites dealing with Scamway. In fact, some of the links can be found on that cult info site that Apple was telling us about. Read some of the ex-distributor stories. It's amazing what people will put up with when they're brainwashed. Some people have literally thrown their whole lives away getting into Amway. Whole families have been totally cleaned out by this ultra-conservative " sales cult " . -dmt

Guest guest
Yep - I read that whole thing on that site. VERY disturbing! I remember years ago, someone approched me about Amway. For some reason that I can't remember, I had the common sense to RUN LIKE HELL from that encounter! ~Trix Amway and 12-step > > >>To me it has always seemed like the blueprint for a multi-level marketing > >>or pyramid scheme.
