About AHF:

Established in 1987, AHF is the largest non-profit, non-governmental

HIV/AIDS organization in the United States. AHF specializes in

providing HIV/AIDS medical care and currently serves over 17,000

patients in the United States regardless of their medical insurance

status or ability to pay at fourteen outpatient clinics and one

inpatient facility located in California and Florida.

Under its global program, AHF provides technical assistance to and

works in partnership with governments, people living with HIV/AIDS,

and local stakeholders to establish sustainable, scalable, and

replicable HIV/AIDS treatment and care models in 11 countries. AHF

currently operates HIV/AIDS clinics that provide life-saving

antiretroviral treatment, care, and support services free of charge

to over 34000 clients in Asia Pacific, Africa and Central America.

AHF India Cares is expanding its programs in India and requires a

Coordinator for its programs in India.

Description:

Position: Programs Coordinator

Key qualifications:

• Medical Graduate, MBBS, or MD from MCI recognized University

in India with Public Health or

• Graduate, Post graduate, MBA in NGO Management, MPH, MSW

• At least Five (5) years experience in the management of

HIVAIDS and other public health related program.

• Posses an adequate computer skills including use of

internet/ e-mail application and MS-Office software, such as Word,

Excel, PowerPoint, etc.;

• Ability to meet deadlines and to manage multiple priorities

while working as part of a team;

• Team player service-minded and able to work under pressure;

• Available to start working in October 2006

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Identify donors and resource from new sources, develop

concept papers, write grant proposal and give pitches for new

resource to advance AHF mission in India; to liaise with external

agencies including funding agencies as appropriate;

Solicit opportunities with potential donors to expand AHF

operations in HIV treatment and care services in India and the

region.

Conduct a situational analysis that provides information

about treatment-related projects or activities, including government

treatment plans on various states of India

Monitor and report any changes across India in treatment and

treatment access issues.

Monitor the quality of existing service delivery programs.

Operationalize potential projects in selected states of

India, develop program designs, work plans, Gantt charts and

revising fundraising and project planning materials for AHF

projects in India;

Represent AHF at meetings and conferences, in particular

those related to HIV/AIDS treatment, technical, and/or policy in

India or within the region.

Advocate AHF perspective on HIV/AIDS-related policy, laws,

and regulations in India.

Update latest information, monitor and report HIV/AIDS-

related policy, laws, and regulations in INDIA;

Responsible for the smooth functioning of the projects,

liaise with NACO, partners, PLHA groups and other key stakeholders

and report on a regular basis to the Asia Pacific Bureau Chief

(APBC);

Identify training needs, plan and coordinate training

programs and activities in collaboration with the APBC, AHF's

Director of Training, and local implementing partners;

Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the project

outlined in the work plans and to keep APBC informed of the quality,

relevance and other important issues of the project to manage

effective implementation to achieve targets of the set objectives;

Regular reporting of the activities, progress and updates on

a weekly, monthly basis and a detailed quarterly report for AHF

consultations and reviews;

And other task as assigned by AHF – Global, Asia Pacific

Bureau Chief.
