Dr. Derry and Abuse Effects to Metabolism

Hi ,

I have read a bit about this from Dr. Derry but would like to know more. Can

you share any further information about what he said the changes to the

metabolic systems are......?

Dr. Derry just told me that the receptors were insentive to thyroid. He is

supposed to answer some questions I asked him on Shomon's site sometime

soon.

All abuse ends up being emotional. It is not the hit, but the fear of that hit

and others, same with the sex, etc. The abused individual is in constant fight

or flee mode, but rarely do either because the self esteem is so destroyed. I am

involved in a group of Adult Adoptees that were abused. Not only do they start

out with what is now called the " Primal Wound " or abandonment, but then they are

abused by the very people they need to rescue them. There is now proof that many

parts of the brain even work differently from the abuse, thus it only makes

sense that the hormone levels would be askew. It appears that the night time

cortisol levels stay high till full failure is reached. No normal sleep, no

normal healing! The research on all this is extensive, but interesting. I have

many suggested books if anyone is interested.

Interestingly - one sign of adrenal exhaustion is " psychic

sensitivity " , but only when the person has fatigued adrenals as a

child does that occur. I don't believe I did, although I was a

sensitive as a child - but maybe...my parents were very strict and my

mother extremely controlling.....but it is believed that the majority

of psychics had a history of abuse and/or a harsh childhood and this

again plays right into the adrenal problems.

I have read that too, about the psychic empathic stuff... I've had

several occasions in my life time when I seemed to sense things before

they happened.... When my mom's aneurysm started to leak and she went

into convulsions. If I'd not been where I was, when I was, she would have

died... that feeling started the day before and it was from those actions

that I was there..... another time was a boyfriend.. we worked at the

same company, that is where we met... He was on night shift, testing

machines that week and I was on our regular day shift.. I went home and

had this odd odd feeling .. it just would not go away... I got dressed

and headed for my car... I went the back roads and was speeding. Got

ticketed by a cop but kept right on going... I got to work and pulled up

outside a rear door... as I walked in that door they were picking him up

off the floor... he'd just been hit with 220 volts and thrown across the

work area... He was okay.. but surprised as heck to see me there as he

got up! I can pick up phones before they ring... mostly that was with my

mom when she was alive and with a guy that I cared about a lot....

Weird stuff....

It's weird.. I'm really good an finishing sentences for folks that I know

well... I'm a great go fer in the garage, knowing the tool needed before

it's asked for.... It's just something that I've always taken for

granted. Just stuff... it's hard to point out, I consider it normal...

but folks around me that aren't used to it point the stuff out to me....

'how did you know that?' ..... Once it was taking a different route when

I was driving truck.. the co-driver thought I was nuts.... but I just did

it anyway... we found out later that if we'd taken the main road we'd

have be in one heck of a traffic jam from an accident that happened AFTER

I'd made the decision to change to the longer route. It was the

difference between finishing the run that day or having to layover that

night and heading back to base the following day...

I had one boss that wrote me up for insubordination because of it... she

said that I always started walking away before she finished a

sentence.... I know what she wanted me to do and I was going to do it!

She wrote me up for not acknowledging her authority as my immediate

supervisor! She was on an ego trip... she was a supervisor!!! Another

boss loved it... I was always one step ahead and on top of everything....

Another boss that hated my guts... had me trouble shoot a machine when no

one else could figure it out.... I was able to analyze the pattern and

isolate the error (a plastics injection molding machine) I was able to

describe it to the techs that were able to make the adjustments and saved

the project, keeping it on schedule. Even after I told them what it was

doing and they sat there and watched it they could not see it..... they

had tried everything else so they did what they had to do to fix what

only I saw.. and that was exactly it!

Stuff like that is so cool! *blush*

I have no idea what it is... I tend to think, though, that it has to do

with rhythms somehow.. that I sense a change in a rhythm.... I don't know

what it's from... even when some of this stuff happens after the

feeling.... when the boyfriend got electrocuted.. it was because another

guy on the test crew failed to turn of a breaker that would have killed

the current to the circuit. The time that he was at that station was

about the time that I was first getting jittery..... by the time Lee got

to the area that he had to rewire I was being stopped by the cop for

speeding.... His thumb touched the hot spot about the time I parked my

car behind the building and was getting out... We talked for a long time

about how that might have turned out if I'd not been pulled over by the

cop... I would have been there before Lee got to the cabinet, he would

have come to see why I was there..... Dick would have been back up at the

console by the breaker by then and might have seen that the lever had not

been pulled... before Lee got hit...

The day I rolled my truck.. I kept telling the boss that I didn't want to

go.. the weather was too bad... he basically told me to go on the run or

find another job.... Two hours later three guys were trying to pull me

out of the cab of a truck that we all thought was on fire! (it was really

just a fire extinguisher that had gone off and was filing the cab with

smokie stuff)

just totally weird stuff.....
