I had something similar when I was taking guaifenesin. It also comes in some cough syrups. Also have you tried pyridium? You can get it over the counter and a higher strength by prescription. It turns your urine orange but stops the pain temporarily. Do you rinse after urinating? The urine might be irritating you. I would consider trying another doctor - you might get lucky.
