X Post Phase 1 Meal Guidelines

My DM (dear mother) has a subscription to www.southbeachdiet.com and she was

showing me all kinds of stuff on the website. One thing I learned was a

general rule of thumb of how much to eat at meal time. I also realized that

I didn't have to rely on salads so much as I did in the past. Here are the

guidelines for Phase 1 from the SBD website.

Breakfast: Protein-unlimited; Veggie-min. 1/2 cup; fruit-none; Starch-none;

Milk-Dairy-2 cups allowed daily (including yogurt); Fat 1 tsp

Snack: Required; choose a protein, veggie, fat-free plain yogurt or

nuts/seeds

Lunch: Protein-unlimited; Veggie-min. 2 cups; Fruit-none; Starch-none;

Milk/Dairy-2 cups allowed daily; Fat-1 Tablespoon

Snack: Required; same as morning snack

Dinner: Protein-unlimited; Veggie-min. 2 cups; Fruit-none; Starch-none;

Milk/Dairy-2 cups allowed daily; Fat-1 Tablespoon

Dessert: Enjoy a Sweet Treat or any of the snack choices
