By Sunita Menon, Staff Reporter, Published: 16/11/2006 12:00 AM (UAE)

Dubai: An Indian HIV patient's final wish before dying was to see

his family. He died soon after he landed in his home country.

Krishna Reddy, 40, who flew home on an Indian airlines flight from

Dubai to Hyderabad on Tuesday morning was pronounced dead a couple

of hours after being admitted to hospital.

As previously reported in Gulf News Reddy, an illegal resident who

came to the UAE on a visit visa, was being been treated on

humanitarian grounds in a Sharjah hospital. He said his last wish

was to see his seven-year-old daughter, his elderly parents and his

wife.

" If I die they will have no one to take care of them. I am their

only son. I will ask my family to forgive me as I am in no condition

to serve them. "

Anand Kumar Pandy, country manager of Indian airlines said: " He died

in a hospital in Hyderabad. "

Uma Paddy, a member of the Indian Community Welfare Committee

said: " If we had been a day later sending him back home his family

would not have been able to see his face. "

She said Reddy's last words to her were, " Ma'am I am OK. I will

reach home and telephone you. "

Consulate officials confirmed the news
