No one has ever mentioned giving breaks. We've given it to my son months

and months at a time. Sometimes it stops working though.

Maybe the concentration of your Melatonin is different...the one I use

As soon as we " give breaks " we are back to loooooong and sleepless nights.

When the time comes that bring it back, it works like a charm all over again.

But without it, there is no sleep, so in this family that whole concept that the

body eventually starts to manufacture it, never seems to happen.

I give my son 3 mg each night and it is still not helping. He is 6.

He goes to sleep slightly better, but still wakes up in the night full

of energy to play or restless. Any advice? I am going out of my mind

from lack of sleep.

Those that are giving melatonin, what time are you giving it to the child? And what brand? Terri Lynn wrote: As soon as we "give breaks" we are back to loooooong and sleepless nights. Ive heard of kids requiring 6 or more mg, but Id run it by your doc first. They also make a sustained release form which would help with middle of the night waking. Ive never tried it before. You can find info on melatonin.com or just google itvodoohobbit wrote: I give my son 3 mg each night and it is still not helping. He is 6. I give him the tablets by Natrol about 20-30 mins before bed. He does

fall asleep faster and much easier but he still wakes up in the middle

of the night. He takes the 3mg. I will try the one from Whole Foods

that is a time release and see if that helps. Thank you!
