kelp and therefore not suitable for persons with thyroid disease " . On

a German site on Hashimoto's disease I found the following

information (translated from German): " Iodine makes your condition

worse and should therefore be avoided by persons with autoimmune

thyroid disease " . In Germany, there are also thyroid meds containing

iodine, but those are not to be prescribed to patients with

Hashimoto's.

Is there any language you don't speak Catarina ??

Yes , iodine is big in Germany . I did my thyroid education in the

US , and when some day I landed in Germany I was amazed about all the

iodine they use . I had never heard of that . In France noone talks

about iodine . But I think has an article somewhere too which

says the same , that one shouldn't use it with Hashi's .

right - not everybody swings back and forth from hyper to hypo with

hashi's. It depends how your immune system is attacking your

thyroid. But does it matter? since a person is treated the same way

if they are hypothyroid or hypo due to hashi's?

Thats right...A person must have their anti-thyroglobulin antibodies checked.

This tells the whole tale. Knew a woman who had anti bodies in the 1300 range.

Anything over 5 was bad...Hashi's for sure....yet she is treated the exact same

way...Armour, eat better, drink a lot of water. She hasnt' gotten to the

adrenal stage yet. A person can only soak in so much info...especially a person

who's mind is foggy from hypo/hashi's. One step at a time. And the first step

is to get the correct blood work run.

T4 FT4

T3 FT3

Reverse T3

Antithyroglobulin-Antibodies TPO

AM Cortisol (if fasting)

Those are the " basic tests " Answers will come from these tests.
