Guest guest
First I want to say how sorry I feel for those of you who are working so hard to be gf & still not feeling better!! I can't imagine anything more frustrating! With that said, I have a question for anybody - Has anyone else heard that when you first start the gf diet that it is sometimes recommended to pull out dairy also?? My son's dr. told us we were to start the gf diet & see if we saw results right away, and if we didn't then we would have to pull dairy at that point (2-3 mos.). It was explained that the milk products have something (a protein/a fat, I don't remember) that can dull the nerve endings in the intestine & make it harder for the intestine to heal even without any gluten. We, gratefully, did see results immediately with the gf diet, but I am wondering if anyone else has been advised about this potential complication to healing with the dairy in the diet??? If so, please share, so maybe these folks that are still feeling sick might find another way to start feeling better. I am going to try to make some calls to our dr's office & nutritionist to get some concrete information on this issue. Good luck & good health-
