Guest guest
Bill, You might want to wait a couple of months befor changing meters. I just read in " The Voice of the Diabetic " that the new Sugar Trac is supposed to come out in april as it has finally been FDA approved. -----Original Message----- From: Bill Powers Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2005 1:34 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Recommendations? OK, since my diabetic testing supplies are almost gone, maybe it's a good time to change my glucometer and testing supplies. There must be better stuff out there than Accu-Chek so I'm open to suggestions from you guys. Bill Powers

Guest guest
Thanks for the number for LifeTrac. Boy this puts me in a pickle because I feel like I need change and my supplies won't last another couple of months, so I either have to stay with what I have until the SugarTrac debuts or make an interim change and then possibly change again. Guest guest
Bill, According to the lady I spoke with it looks like it may be longer then April, which is a shame. The big question is will insurance cover this meter if strips are not used? That is a awsome thing BTW. Re: Recommendations? > > Thanks for the number for LifeTrac. Guest guest
Hi Pat, I saw quite a bit of traffic on this subject later but I decided to make a comment about now. Since Crystal does not have her supplies purchased by anyone except us and since she should really be checking her sugar at least 3 to 6 times per day it really would not take long to overcome a pretty stiff price of a non-invasive meter. I believe the strips for the Ultra Smart (as well as other Ultra) meters comes real close to 90 cents each... This comes real close to $90 per month for strips alone... If anyone knows where we could get them cheaper please let us know... Cy, the Ancient Okie... Recommendations? OK, since my diabetic testing supplies are almost gone, maybe it's a good time to change my glucometer and testing supplies. There must be better stuff out there than Accu-Chek so I'm open to suggestions from you guys. Bill Powers
