Re: 'Buladi' Campaign Censored

Dear Forum,

I was shocked to hear that what Buladi can say, has been censored by the West

Bengal government. This is contrary to what Amartya Sen's new book, Identity and

Violence, talks about when, he writes about AIDS.

It is a wonder that we have a population of 1.2 billion, and all of us were born

by immaculate conception. We have to save our people from getting infected. It

is totally preventable, if the right methods are used. Clinton's program in

India shows truckers about sex in quite graphic images and even homosexual (gay

sex), which some truckers indulge in. We have to get over the mentality that we

cannot talk about sex, but it is OK to do it in the bedroom.

Our proper middle class morality has to be shoved under the carpet or the mosaic

floor. The English have left long ago and even they are not so prude in their

own country anymore. Save the graphic explanations to after prime time when kids

are in bed, but do not censore them.

Have Buladi put a condom on a cucumber and have her show how to put on the gel

which reduces transmission, on a vagina. People all over the world expect India

and China to be the next giants. The way such growth is possible is not just by

getting rich with dollars, but how quickly you change your mentality.

On this 25 anniversary of when AIDS was found in American young men(and I was

infected too), let us stop being so prude and turn a new leaf and change

quickly. We had lost out to Japan when the Americans came to their country last

century. Let us not do it this time.

Remember industrialists, your work force will be dissimated if you are not

careful, and the Indian army will be destroyed too.

Let's all talk about sex and do it a little less..
