I find that a small bag of nuts (I like a combo of peanut, almonds

and soy nuts) and a mozzarella stick work fine for me. Since the

mozzarella is sealed I don't worry about it not being refrigerated.

I keep a small container of peanut butter in my locker, and bring

sliced apples. Not too handy for carrying around, but at least

accessible.

Nuts are always a good option. Measure out your quota and put them in

indiviual snack bags to keep in your pocket.

If you don't sit on them, hard boiled eggs would work as well.

Try the SBD muffins. Fool around with them and add things...

I saw someone post on another lista bout this. They made them as a loaf and then cut them into bars.

They said it turned out pretty dense, sort of like a power bar.

Snacks?

I am on Phase 2 and was wondering if anyone has discovered or made any sort of snacks that are non-perishable but still adhere to the diet? I am a med student and will be starting rotations soon and am told that often times I won't be able to stop for lunch at all. I want to be able to carry around some sort of snack or granola bar, but so far all I've found are things high in fat and low in protein. Any suggestions??Thanks, Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats.
