Guest guest
I had it happen to me twice from flu meds. I've never used anything since, lol...I had to try and remember to breathe...this was so many years ago...way before I was DX'd with thyroid problems. Guest guest
I have been taking decongestants for over 25 years as I stay constantly congested and thought it must be from allergies. Could taking the decongestants have caused my hypo state or did the hypo cause the allergies? Deborah Re: Cold Meds, Decongestants and Thyroid >That said, some people with hypothyroidism do > find that they become sensitive to ingredients like pseudoephedrine, what > you'd typically find in Sudafed or other decongestants. That happened to me in my 30's. I suddenly developed this odd reaction to the Pseudoephedrine in cold meds--felt wired and HORRIBLE. Only later did I discover that it goes hand in hand with thyroid issues. Guest guest
I would agree with this. I got extreme congestion when pregnant this last time. I started on nasal spray only to never go back. Have been contemplating asking Bobby for his tried and true method of weaning off. I have quit before (about a year ago) but only with the help of decongestants. Then I heard that nasal congestion can be caused by hypo so I am upping my dose in the hopes that will get better. Also my eyesight is getting better. Went from 2 gr to 3 gr over night but dosing 3x instead of twice a day. So far nothing but good things have come from it. Hoping the 3 gr will help my poor nose too. in AZ Mom to Kayla(10), Jenna(8), (8), (6), (6), (5), Junie(3) and Jillian (12 mo) > > hypothryoid can often go hand-in-hand with sinus problems, but not > necessarily alleriges. people sometimes confuse sinus and > allergies.
