Like I said, Rita. They try to kill you there! those are really good

questions to ask.

Re: Wayne

Pat,

I am sure it is not just medication for diabetes that gets mixed up. I

would always ask two questions. What is the name of this medicine and who

is it for? Same thing when they come to get you for a test. What test is

this and who is it for.

My mom once got an e. e. g. which was for her roommate. Gee.

From what I have observed it is not necessarily the doc's fault. Somehow

the folks who dispense the meds may need a little more motivation to pay

strict attention to what they are doing.

Some of this happens when someone is required to work a 24 hour shift

and some of it happens when you have a $5.15 per hour person doing the

job of a $25 per hour person.

In the case of dieticians, there surly must not be any test or

examinations to determine the qualifications of an applicant.

The problems we had with Susie and Barbara were clearly the fault of the

dietician not understanding the requirements and knowing what foods

contain which vitamins and minerals.

Cy, the Ancient but disgusted Okie...

Re: Wayne

lol lol... pat, the hospital is trying to kill you! *laugh*... I

couldn't agree more!

That is why it is good to shop around for a doc that is that team player

that knows what you need and so on.

Wayne

I just spoke with Wayne. He seems to have his blood sugars in control

again. I told him and he agreed, that he would ask whoever gave him

the

drink, to read the amount of carbs in it. When I go into the

hospital, I go

into defense mode. I think my BG level is always higher when in the

hospital because I am sure they are trying to kill me! I ask

questions with

every pill or drink or every IV they start. It is usually not eh

doctors

fault when an error occurs like that, but he fault of whoever is

giving you

the drink. You just have to b really alert and ask questions. I was

glad

to hear he was feeling so much better. However, they are moving his

fistula

for the dialysis, so will have to have another surgery to do that and

he

said they might move him to another room. It looks like he will stay

there

a while.

It would be an interesting experiment to have white coated medical personel

see patients and then check their glucose levels to see if these

white-coated staff really do cause a significant rise in one's glucose

level. I think not. However I would like to apply for a fedeeral grant of

say ten million dollars to see if it is or is not true.

Hey, Harry!

Can I be part of your experiment? I would only expect 25% of that 10 mill!

You expect too much. After all the administrator of a federal grant can

only expect to get 20% for administrative cost.

Harry,

Be sure you do not tell them that these folks are blind and would not

know if the staff were in white, black or nothing....

Hmm, wonder what that would to to the old sugar level?
