thanks Cy for the update. I am planning to call Wayne Friday to wish him happy

new year. Please don't mention it to him though, would like it to be a surprise

*grin*

Hi all,

I spoke with Wayne about noon and he sounds pretty good.

He is feeling better due in no small part to the fact that he does not

have Dialyses today.

He reports that his sugar is becoming more stable. His reading this

morning was something like 125 or so. It did spike yesterday but it also

does come back down.

I suspect that the Diabetes management in the hospital does leave

something to be desired.

Anyway, Wayne wanted me to tell everyone hello.

Hi ,

Don't worry, I wont tell.

I think he would really enjoy that. When I talk to him he tells me of

the people who have called him. It does seem to really matter and I

think it will help make the difference.

God bless you and your family. By the way, he is still talking about

speaking with your short sidekick Nick.

You definitely have more trust and faith in doctgors and nurses than I do.

I believe that Wayne could manage is insulin injections and glucose monitor

readings a lot more trustworthy than the hospital staff can.

Hi Group,

Sorry for the double post about Wayne.

Something went amiss and the poor computer refused to mail the first

note.

I suppose it thought about it and then decidd to just go ahead and humor

me.

Cy, the Ancient Okie...

Wayne

I spoke with Wayne. He said he is feeling better as they gave him a

pain pilll after the ordeal he went through. At least they said they

would not do that to h im again! He really manages to keep his own

spirits up considering all that has happened to him.

I have emailed , his good friend, and should hear back from her soon as to

what is up. Wayne keeps in touch with her frequently.

I'll let everyone know when I hear back from her.

Regards,

Wayne

Anyone heard anything about Wayne? I tried today to call and still no

answer. Do you think he has been moved to a rehab unit?

lol lol... pat, the hospital is trying to kill you! *laugh*... I couldn't agree

more!

That is why it is good to shop around for a doc that is that team player that

knows what you need and so on.

Regards,

Wayne

I just spoke with Wayne. He seems to have his blood sugars in control

again. I told him and he agreed, that he would ask whoever gave him the

drink, to read the amount of carbs in it. When I go into the hospital, I go

into defense mode. I think my BG level is always higher when in the

hospital because I am sure they are trying to kill me! I ask questions with

every pill or drink or every IV they start. It is usually not eh doctors

fault when an error occurs like that, but he fault of whoever is giving you

the drink. You just have to b really alert and ask questions. I was glad

to hear he was feeling so much better. However, they are moving his fistula

for the dialysis, so will have to have another surgery to do that and he

said they might move him to another room. It looks like he will stay there

a while.

You are correct about that . they call it white coat syndrom here

also! My fear is not so much about what I am going to hear, but as I am

sure they will make some sort of detricmental error that wil make matters

worse! part of the problem is that i worked in hospitals and know about all

the errors that are made!

Re: Wayne

,

I think a lot of people's BP does go up, when they need to see a doctor,

particularly at a hospital! I, and a few others here in England, like to

call it, [White Coat syndrome].

I think it could be put down to the fact, that you are in a strange

environment, and also, you always expect to hear the worst from your doctor.

Like I said, Rita. They try to kill you there! those are really good

questions to ask.

Re: Wayne

Pat,

I am sure it is not just medication for diabetes that gets mixed up. I

would always ask two questions. What is the name of this medicine and who

is it for? Same thing when they come to get you for a test. What test is

this and who is it for.

My mom once got an e. e. g. which was for her roommate. Gee.
