I never feel bad when my sugar is high or low.

but the highest it has ever been has been is about 252.

But the other morning it was 52. and I could not feel any difference.

So I never know when my sugar is high or low.

but I try to keep it in tight control. I was on pills for 15 years.

and I have been on insulin for about 3 months.

But I find that I have to watch what I eat on insulin more than I ever

did on the pills, and btw I still take most of the pills.

avandia, met formin, etc.

Well, in my opinion you do not need to be taking oral medications mentioned

below, if you are on injectible insulin for diabetes control. The time

period for having to switch to insulin is about right. I heard it will

require a type 2 diabetic to go on insulin, switching from oral medications

after 10-15 years of use, when the oral medications no longer allow diabetes

control.

In my case I used oral medications for 16 years before I had to switch.

BTW me and a friend at work were interested one day as to what the highest

registered blood sugar was. If recalling, it was 1250 from a guy in Ohio! I do

know it was in the thousands though.

just google it and you'll find out the info.

Regards,

Yes, type 2's can pass out from too high blood sugar. It happened to an

ex-client of mine and he ended up on insulin after that.

high bg's

You can pass out anytime you bg's get high enough even without eating. I

landed in the hospital sick once with a 600 and was in a coma before being

found. So I hadn't eaten. You take insulin to match your carbs. Type 2's

who

can't control themselves enough to get the weight off, exercise and eat

right

should be on insulin which will control it rather than pills which you will

end up with complications.

I have a important question. can a type two pass out from eating to many

carbs and have a reaction like the type one can? I am aware of how bad I

feel after eating way to many carbs and sending my sugar out of sight.

Usually, Dave, the doc takes you off meds after being put on

medication-unless you are on fast acting insulin for coverage only.

Hi,

I didn't see an answer to this so I checked Google.

Dougherty at 12 years old in November 1995 was found to have a

blood sugar level of 2,350 and was still concious. The normal blood sugar

range is

between 80-120.
