Guest guest
No it is more like a medical PHRASE book but without the explanations - it does list informal terms like " crazy chick disease " . It is a big book 1200+pages - well indexed. I use mine a lot. Guest guest
No Trish, Much, much, better. Say you are transcribing and and can't quite hear one word but can hear the second one, you can look under that second word and find that one that you couldn't quite hear. It is really an amazing book. from Calif. Guest guest
Trisha, This book is definitely an all speciality book. from Calif. T wrote: > Well that sounds interesting. Guest guest
The 4th edition is 1800 pages, which is about 540 pages more than the 1994 (3rd) edition. The publisher's site seems to give a release date of August 1st, which is confusing since & Noble gives a release date of July 1st. info from the publisher (http://www.pmicbooks.com/ME052.htm): Completely revised 4th edition includes over 50,000 new entries, making it the most comprehensive medical phrase book in print. All entries are cross-indexed under each word in the phrase, and include “sound alike” words and common abbreviations. Used by thousands of court reporters, medical transcriptionists and health information management personnel nationwide. Over 240,000 medical phrases All entries cross-indexed Thumb indexed to help you find words faster.
Guest guest
The ISBN of the new edition is 1570661855. I am sure about this since I find the same ISBN at bn.com, fatbrain.com, and borders.com. The only mystery is when the book will be available. I am going to e-mail the publisher now and will post the response. --
