Info about NC Docs Please...

Hello everyone

I'm new to the group. My son, 8 yrs old, was diagnosed with a Chiari 1

last year. It's coming up on his 1 yr checkup MRI. From reading all the

mail that is sent in this group I've learned a lot....actually..some

questions I need to ask. My son has numerous symptoms that Chip has listed

on his symptoms page. We have gone to the neurosurgery clinic at UNC Chapel

Hill....sent there by Womack Army Hospital. Can anyone tell me where in NC

they have found a doctor who actually gives you info? They didn't really

tell us a lot there..just that he has Chiari 1 Malformation but it's not bad

enough to operate on yet. And of course, since there isn't much research

done on it, the medical profession doesn't think some things are related to

chiari. Like behavior and mood swings. Heck, if I was in pain and didn't

understand it (as an 8 yr old would likely be unable to understand the pain),

I think I might be rather moody myself.

Sorry to go on...just frustrated. Please let me know of caring doctors

you all may know of in NC....we live close to Fayetteville.
