Guest guest
Yes, the charity's web site is www.uniaf.org and whether you click on the links for home, programs or the other links on the bottom of the page, it all brings up the same page - 3 pictures of Adam smiling and asking for donations. Yes, there are not even any photos of the items being sold for donation. Folks, I believe that with bzmummie@...'s great investigative work, we have uncovered one giant scam. The fact that the charity operates out of a foreign country (Germany) makes everything even more suspicious. Any suggestions on whom and where to report this big scam to?Delicious ideas to please the pickiest eaters. Watch the video on AOL Living. Guest guest
Can you share what you have learned with someone in the local media? The Herald, one of the tv stations etc.? I can't imagine anyone would donate to the org after Adam's comments, but something really seems wrong here. > > This came off the CBS boards site and is from someone who actually e- > mailed the web site that he has > > > I sent an email confirming the organization Adam is associated with > and received the following response from bb9@... > > I apologize for any and all inappropriate comments Adam was making > about > children who have been diagnosed with autism. Guest guest
Not to stir the pot any more on this organization, but that address is an office building, and that office number is for an attorney's office. Also at this same exact address is the " Shark Foundation " which accepts donations to protect sharks. Right next door at suite 701 is the Downs Syndrome Association, which also accepts donations for research. Aside from the sharks, anyone smell anything fishy? Guest guest
" United Autism Foundation " Aside from their storefront website, I found this little ditty: http://www.autism500.com/pdf/Leadership.pdf They claim to have quite an advisory panel. The uniaf.org e-mail address for the contact just leads to a page saying that the domain name is available for purchase. Janet Miami, FL > > I looked it up on the Sunbiz website and found the registered agents to be Miami based and it is listed as a Domestic Non-profit. Doesn't anyone else think that it is interesting that non of us that are active in the autism community have heard of this organization? > > >
