Guest guest
He Fellow Troopers< When I spoke to tonight from Seton Hall, she asked me to inform you all that Karina had her surgery this morning by Dr. Hitzelberg and Dr. Brackman at Kaiser Los Angeles. She did very well. She lost her hearing on the right side but they believe they saved the facial nerve and they will see about the balance issue when she has a few more days of recovery. Tonight she is in intensive care. The docs and nurses were wonderful. Karina asked for water, food, bathroom and all the amenities. She shows a lot of spunk right now. Hopefully, tomorrow will be just as optimistic. is swamped with caring and catching up on her rest with her husband . She will be in touch personally as soon as she can. If you want me to give her a message, I'll be glad to do so. Anne and I had the pleasure of meeting with Karina and when they came to California last week because knows her way around Los Angeles quite well. We had an opportunity to have a nice Italian restaurant and drive around the coast as per Karina's request. I think Anne and Karina hit off well. Anne has expressed much concern about Karina which is surprising for Anne. Her aphasia and soft signs autism usually prevents her from doing that. But it must be a real bond to know someone who is suffering like she must (and she does it quietly). Vicki
