I don't know about evening primrose, but I do know about cayenne and vitex

(chasteberry). I take both of these and they have controled the length and

intensity of my periods. It make take a couple months for the full effect, but

it is worth it. Cramps are less also - maybe because of decreased bleeding.

Good luck,

>Dear Elise,

Several years ago, I used Evening Primrose Oil in the hopes that it

would relieve PMS symptoms. It didn't. Also, my fibroids grew incredibly

fast (from hardly palpable to a 20 wk size) while I was taking the

stuff. I don't know if the EPO caused/enhanced the growth or if it was

just a coincidence, but I regret ever having taken it. Robyn

I have been taking Evening Primrose Oil for a while now. It does seem

to help with the cramps and maybe even with the bloating a little bit.

And, I don't seem to feel quite as PMSy as I have in the past. I just

read someone else's message about EPO making her fibroids grow

rapidly. I don't know what to think about that. I had fibroids 10

years ago and had them removed. I now have fibroids again. I don't

know if I can link it to the EPO or if they would have just regrown

anyway even if I wasn't taking EPO. I've heard that regrowth does

happen sometimes after myomectomy so really wasn't too surprised to

find I had them again.

Dear Elise,

I have used it and since I was doing a bunch of other stuff to slow

my fibroids, I'm not sure if it specifically helped that. But, it did

do one good thing for me. It helped with all my minor aches and

pains, especially with my knee. It is an anti-inflamatory type herb

similar to Borage oil.
