Guest guest
Hi, I'm Jane. I have a large fibroid on my cervix, and a smaller one on the top of my uterus. I seem to have gotten some sort of control over the bleeding by using Depo-Provera shots, spaced every 2 months instead of 3; and I've been taking vitamins (100% RDA of everything) since Jan. 1. I still live in slight nervous fear of " what if I bleed again " -- just wondering what experiences everyone else has had. thanks, Jane
Guest guest
Jane, I have the same experience, except I sometimes live in much more than slight fear, since I had a couple of very, very bad bleeds last summer.I have a very big uterus(I just keep saying that) but did not have porblems until after UAE when I had post embo syndrome and then this bleeding stuff.I am on Prometrium,an oral natural progesterone, but I find it can't always be trusted. What is your experinece of that? Do periods come on time, reasonable lengthy and flow etc.?How much Depo do you get? How long have you been taking it? Which of the fibroids are resposible for the bleeding? I just had an MRI and only have preliminary results but they found a very small su-mucosal which I think is the culprit. Anway it would be good to hear your experience. Bonnie By the Way does anyone know WHY submucosal fibroids create so much bleeding? What is the mechaism, how does that work? Guest guest
Sydney, Glad you were on-line tonight and caught Jane's story.I think I'm petering out---but never can be sure.(tons of super pads in the purse AT ALL TIMES) I'm asking the group again what is the mechanism for the submucosal bleeding? Maybe Carla knows? Carla? Bonnie Sydney Lagier wrote: > Jane: > > I'm glad you're having luck on Depo Provera. Guest guest
Hi Jane Let's hope the drugs have got the bleeding under control. Are you sticking with the drugs option or are you planning surgery. I haven't heard of Depo-Provera is that an American drug? I too have a cervical fibroid causing a lot of bleeding but it is under control since I've been taking the GnRH agonist Zoladex. (although I haven't had any shrinkage) I'm looking into my options but am wondering if there are drugs I can take on a long term basis if the other options such as UAE etc aren't appropriate for me. Any info you have on drugs would be useful. Thanks KD uterine fibroids group - my intro Hi, I'm Jane. I have a large fibroid on my cervix, and a smaller one on the top of my uterus.
