I have not had this situationĀ  in many many years but I recall using a

hypoglycemic diet with some success. Stressing keeping an ounce of unsalted

almonds handy for when the person felt an incident coming, not going more than 3

hours between meals (6 meal pattern).

Subject: Menieres Disease

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday :)

I have a client whose wife was recently diagnosed with Menieres. From

what I understand it's a form of virtigo and the diet recommendation is

to limit sodium to 1g/day. I'm still looking into it, but was

wondering if any of you have had to work with any individuals that have

Meniers Disease and what you have done to help them, in terms of diet.

I would greatly appreciate any and all insight.

TIA!

Dr. Gott's newspaper column had a recommendation from a pharmacist a few

years ago for a supplement that was (testimonially) beneficial for people

with Menieres. I saved the clipping for a friend and never got it sent to

her and I have a feeling it's the one piece of clutter I've disposed of in

recent history. Seems like it had flavonoles or flavonoids but I can't

remember.

I just accepted a position as a Nutrition Health Extension Agent at Fort

Riley, Kansas so I am packing and sorting. With any luck, I didn't dispose

of the article and will find it so I can report back!
