Guest guest
I am very concerned about what is happening now. I have been on Aygestin for two weeks to control bleeding and it's been working up to now. Today I woke up and in the shower had a lot of bleeding and clots. I put in a tampon and 10 minutes later it was out. My clots are big again and the bleeding profuse. I am worried I am going to hemorrage today. Could this be my period? I have no idea where I am in the cycle since I went from the birthcontrol pill right to taking aygestin. I guess I just need some support now. Thank you Anita
Guest guest
Anita, I don't know what time you sent this message because Yahoo has been very slow. I think you should call your doctor immediately and report what is happening. If you are bleeding through a tampon or pad an hour for several hours, or if you feel week, like you are going to pass out, you should go to the emergency room. I've had heavy bleeding like that and I know it is scary. Sometimes my bleeding can be so irratic. I can bleed lightly for several days, then all of a sudden pass huge clots and go through a tampon in fifteen minutes. One time, after several days of abdominal discomfort, I passed a clot the size of my fist and then all hell broke loose! I've gone to the ER several times because I would rather be safe than sorry. The hospital staff will monitor your blood pressure and vital signs, take your blood count, and possibly give you an IV to keep you hydrated. Guest guest
Dear Therese, That's how it was for me. I had been bleeding very lightly. Very little and then all of a sudden this morning-alot. I did call the Dr. he wasn't on call. I did ask for the covering Dr. to call me back, but he never did. After about 11:00 the bleeding lessened and I didn't feel the need to call the Dr back. I know he is going to say take the Lupron, but I still don't want to do that. I am trying to last until the end of June when I hope to have the hysteroscopy. Have you ever heard of versapoint ( I am not sure it is spelled this way) It was taken off the market and that was why my Dr. didn't perform Hysteroscopic resections. Now he said it's back on and he will try it. I don't know this is all so frustrating, scary, and confusing. Thank you for writing, it really helps. I will keep in touch. Guest guest
Anita, No, I've never heard of versapoint. Is it a kind of surgical instrument? I've heard of a resectoscope used for operative hysteroscopy and a rollerball for endometrial ablation. Maybe it would be a good idea to find out why it was taken off the market before having the procedure. I would be nervous about using this method if there had been a problem with it. Maybe you should contact other doctors to see what methods they use before making a decision. Good luck, Therese Re: very scared Dear Therese, That's how it was for me.
