Finally!!! Armour!

The one thing you don't want to do is overdose because your poophead will

say, " I told you so! "

When you begin Armour after having taken T4 only, you get a double whammy at

first if you are not careful. T4 has a long half-life and takes time to get

out of your system. If you take too much Armour at first, the fast-acting

T3 on top of all the T4 you already have in you can make you go hyper for a

while.

Therefore, I would suggest you start with a low dose and then increase it by

1/4 - 1/2 grain every time you start feeling a bit tired. You didn't say

how much T4 you were on so knowing how much to start with and how much to

ultimately take is not possible.

Finally got my prescription for armour! Can someone tell me how to figure

out what the equivalent levoxyl dose would be in Armour? I was given 3

grains. I had to fight for the prescription though, so I want to make sure

this is appropriate. They just really wanted to give me more levoxil.

After all - the doc went on and on about how its really not all that great -

its just dried up cow thyroid, and the T3 in it just blasts into your system

all at once. So I told him I could take it throughout the day, and then I

told him that actually its pig - porcine, and that the only reason I mention

it is that he may have patients, who for religious or ethnic reasons it may

not appropriate. So he came back with the script and gratitude for the

info. He went to look it up! Good for him, though, and even better for

me!! So now I just want to make sure the armour is not TOO much for me. I

took the first grain sublingually, and I feel better already. Could that

be?
