My husband is anxiously awaiting the results of his blood tests

which he suspects will be positive. He participates in several

triathlons during the year and he rely's on energy bars, gels and

drinks - specifically harvest bars (which the label says is

manufactured and a plant that handles wheat), power gels and Endurox

R4. Does anyone know if these products are GF and if there are some

triathlete's out there what do you use for training? ( I was going

to contact Endurox anyway - but didn't know if someone knew this)

Thanks so much,

Kathy

We like Aunt Foods protein bars. They are made from almond

butter and have 12 grams of protein per bar. All their bars are both

gluten and casein free. My daughters like the apple berry breakfast bar

and I like the chocolate almond bar (takes a bite or two to get used to

the flavor, then it is addicting). I have tried the blueberry cashew and

hated it. Here's the website:

Good luck!

I used to do Speed skating, and I researched one product that is not

too easy to find anymore.

GU ... nothing in it is real, its all made in a lab. But I talked

with the guy who invented it. He made it originally for his kids.

Basically its just substances that make your muscles not feel

fatigued, and let me tell you, it works, but after it wears off...

you feel it.

The no-flavor one is the safest, as it has never came in contact with

any sort of gluten substance.

Sorry to be so slow in responding to this (end of the summer craziness...).

My husband (a long-distance biker) and daughter (avid soccer player) both

use energy gels. Clif, Power Bar, and Gu are the brand names they use. I

called all three and all three manufacturers say they are gluten free. My

husband feels that he absorbs the nutrients from the gel more quickly than

he does with the typical energy bars.
