Guest guest
Some time ago there was a discussion about Corn Beef Hash. It depends on what brand you select: All values are for a 1 cup serving. Libby's = 33 carbs, 850 mg potassium. Armour = 23 carbs, 1000 mg potassium. Hormel regular and light = 23 carbs 1000 mg sodium. Now, for the nuts. All values are for a 1/4 cup or 1 oz serving. Black walnuts = 4 carbs Pecans = 4 carbs. Sliced almonds = 6 carbs. Smoked almonds = 5 carbs. Peanuts, party,, roasted or whatever = 5 carbs. Cashews = 8 carbs Spanish peanuts = 7 carbs. Oh yes, FYI, plain old corn beef in a can contains 0 carbs per 2 oz serving. From what we can tell any amount of corn beef is 0 carbs. Now, the infamous Spam contains 1 carb per 2 oz serving whether it is regular, low fat, BBQ or whatever. One more thing, the Betty Crocker low carb cook book is a hoax. They claim all recipes are 15 carbs or less. This is well and good except they mean NET carbs….. Now, one question. What does the body do with fiber? Are any of the carbs in fiber converted to sugar? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
