I

think we have to adjust my b vitamins and folic acid…the past two weeks

have been horrible, totally exhausted. I go see rheumy next month, trying

to wait till then. I have had to have b12 injections in the past (for

other illness situation) and wonder if I’ll have to go back to

those. Those HURT,yuck.

You

are right, avoiding the sickies is hard…and you won’t believe what

happened here! There has been a hepatitis outbreak in a hospital.

It’s not the one I normally use, but had been there around the time of

the outbreak (I had to get to a close ER). Sooooooooo…guess what I

had to do? I had to get the stupid hep vaccines…blech. I had

just talked to doc awhile back about vaccines, and what I should get if

any. I was just starting my RA meds so we did the pneumonia vaccine and

she said the only other one would be the hep ones but since I

don’t’ work in health field or other area that would expose me they

would not be necessary. Then this happens, aaaaaaaaack. What I wish

is I could get the flu shot but my egg allergy does not allow it. I know

many feel it doesn’t help, but being the scientist I am, I know it CAN

help some, and I need all the help I can get, LOL. Oh well…maybe if

I finish my grad degree I can invent a new flu vaccine…one that

doesn’t use eggs, LOL

Until

then, my biz partner in the preschool/daycare calls me before I head

there…to let me know if some of the kids have sickies I need to avoid,

LOL. I was also told that while on methotrexate getting the chicken pox

and shingles is a risk, even if you have had them before. Wild,

I’ve never had chicken pox and got vaccine a few years back when it came

out. Sure don’t’ want them at THIS age, yuck.

Apparently I can still get shingles though, thanks to the meds, figures.

My

system makes no sense…docs say I probably am immune to chicken pox (but

getting vaccine was cheaper than the DNA test, LOL) and yet I catch everything

ELSE that comes along, especially the flu and bronchitis. I’m also

“immune” to poison ivy, guess I’m just weird (long story

about how we figured THAT out, heehee)

I know

they have me taking folic acid. A couple of months ago they

raised the dose of it but now it's back down to

what I was originally

taking. Guess it's good to get the bloodwork every

month! Sometimes I

forget when it's time to go but I eventually get

there.

I know I try to stay away from people who are real

sick. And then you

have the " heroes " who come in to work

coughing and dying all over the

place. Thank you very much for your germs and

such! Unfortunatly ya have

to go to stores and such so it's really an

impossible thing to stay away

from.
