Nutrition Care Process and Diet Techs

Hey there everyone...Happy New Year!

I'm getting ready to roll out the implementation of the Nutrition Care

Process but am wondering what the diet tech's " job " is in this. If the

RD has to " diagnose " and " monitor and evaluate " , what does the tech do?

Good evening!

Our tech gathers information from the chart, the IDX computer

system and the patient and/or family. She will then document in the

IDX computer system by using the SBAR (situation, background,

assessment, recommendation)). We (RDs) write the assessment and

recommendation section.
