Guest guest
Dear Members, It is an open fact that many tribal girls being lured for various purposes. It is not only girls from Jharkand but also Adhibasi girls living in the the existing relief camps of Korkajhar district, Bodoland Territorial Council (Assam) North East. Many Adhibasi families were displaced during the ethnic conflict of 1996 and 1998. Till then nearly 25 relief camps aprox. population of two lakhs are living in the camps without any proper ration for a day. The recent survey done by us in the camps indicates 109 tribal girls were lured by the dalal in the name of domestic servant but parents does not have any idea whereabout their little girls are taken. Most of them have not return home for three to four years. There is a fear that they may be sold, sexually exploited, temporary marriage or so on. Another fear is also that they may be HIV infected already. What is going to happen for those little one and even they return home and get married in the local area without knowledge of having HIV it will certaintly spread in the family ignorantly. Whom to blame, and how to stop this is the question roll in every ones mind like flies flying on closed bottle. Digambar Narzary Kokrajhar,Assam North East E-mail: nedan_ne@... Guest guest
Dear members! Greetings. Digamber has mentioned an important issue as these people are internally displaced due to ethnic violence. I have been to most of these camps and found the same thing . There is a need to put more attention towards these people as the goverenmnet is doing nothing for them. Ranjan K Baruah NE PYF E-mail: nepyf@...
