From Webster's Collegiate, 10th ed:

dependent -- 1. hanging down

Kim R.

dependent portion of breast

Then, on the PE, doc says ... In the left breast, there is a single incision

towards the upper aspect of the breast. The breast is slightly erythematous

in the s/l *** dependent *** portion, with some edema.

Is " dependent " correct here? If so, what is meant by this? Is is related

to the estrogen/progesterone receptors, i.e., estrogen-dependent ???? Just

not sure.

Thank you!!

Shel
