Guest guest
I work at a 120 bed facility - 60 beds are long term care and 60 beds are sub-acute/rehab beds. Our medical staff just approved a Probiotic/C-Diff protocol that I wroting, referrencing the Nutritional Management of C-Dff in LTC from the CDHCF Spring 2007 newsletter. I have a new protocol they wish for me to pursue. That is probiotics in antibiotic therapy. We have seen an increase of diarrhea with the use of Avelox especially. Does anyone have a protocol they are following for residents who are receiving antiobiotics? We also have several IV antibiotic residents and therefore IV's of Vanomycin is not unusal. I would hate to re-invent the wheel if someone has this already developed. Thank you... -- http://twitter.com/CarolCasey http://www.facebook.com/people/Carol-Casey/1421842129
