Shenan lost about 2/3 of her very very thick wavy hair when she hit her teens. Everyone kept telling us it was nothing and seemed fine to them, but it was so sad for her. Even happens to the boys in the family. I guessed it was a problem with the biotin since that was one of our nutrient blocks according to the TX test. I did see some hormones had to do with the thinning hair too. Guest guest Posted September 20, 1999 Report Share Posted September 20, 1999 - never had very much hair, and it is still pretty thin, but I always chalked it up to inadequate nutrition as a whole . . . it definitely improved after g-tube placement. His teeth were very slow to erupt as well and his nails barely grew. (Along with the rest of him . . . FTT!) Getting in adequate calories made all the difference in the world for us. It was coming out in handfuls. He lost a little during the first two months (he had a receeding hair line) but certainly not all of the hair. The real hair grew in immediately. I think that babies lose their hair in the first month or two. My children have delayed bone ages by about 50%, (example if chron. age is 6 their bones are about age 3) and have been very late with all their teeth milestones. I just figured it was something blondes did. - I think that Orion sounds like he got sick about when most babies start losing their hair. Some of mine lost it about 6 weeks and Abby, who had huge amount of dark long hair lost every speck at 4 months. She continues to lose but it has somewhat stabilized. I have noticed when things seem to be working right in my body my hair has body and shines & is darker, otherwise it is limp and lackluster. My nephew, who is healthy as can be had a head of dark hair and at 3 months it all fell out and grew back blond.
