Thanks for making me laugh.

Amy (mom to (21mos), possible mito, possible seizures, global

developmental delay, microcepaly, GI reflux and GI delay in emptying, CVI, ?

Hearing, and the best smile and giggle)

scissors

So would you like to hear the trouble Zachary, (7) and Abby, (6) got into

this

morning? Sometime during the morning she was reading a book and I noticed

her finger was bleeding quite profusely. I asked her what had happened and

the answer was,, " oh nothing. " Like any mom knows, " oh nothing " means

something. So while I try to stop it bleeding the story comes out little

by little. She and Zachary were attempting surgery on a stuffed dog this

morning to put a G tube in. She held the dog while he had the scissors and

obviously he took a snip out of her finger too. the finger apparently had

been bleeding off and on for a few hours but she " just put it under water

and pressed it and it stopped. " No wonder she was up in her room all

morning playing with dolls. (You can imagine what the carpet up there

looks like.).

It took me almost 30 min to get the finger to stop bleeding and then I

steri stripped it and made a splint so she would not move it since every

time she did it gushed out. Unbelievable what a non sharp pair of scissors

can do. Fortunately she is up to date on her tetanus and we have more

bactroban in this house than we can possibly think of ways to use it. (Not

that I encourage them thinking of ways to use it. Ü)

Afterwards I was talking with them and asked what lesson they had learned.

Abby says with her big wide open eyes, " I learned that you should never

ever lie even if you think you did a wrong thing because you could lose a

whole part of your body. " Zachary said, " I learned that heparin takes blood

out of the carpet. "

They are both scared silly good thing. The dog

is none the worse though. I can't even see where the attempted surgery

occurred. I do think Zach better hone up on his surgery skills though

before he goes into practice . (he thinks his surgeon is the greatest man

on earth short of his dad).
