Guest guest
<<... it still seems that all the stuff that is coming up the same as what I found that day.... that T2 is aimed toward metabolism and fat utilization... I still want to check further though.... and on T1 as well.>> Hi - I posted my question on another group and somebody kindly sent me the following links which are extremely useful. Studies are currently showing some interesting data that T2 may have more of an active role than originally thought - BUT - there is also a lot of information available that almost all of the T1 and T2 production happens OUTSIDE the thyroid gland. There are some misleading references online that confuse T1 and T2 with MIT and DIT (the actual components the thyroid gland uses to make T3 and T4). T1 and T2 are breakdown products of T3 and and RT3. Since almost all deiodination of T3 and RT3 happens outside of the thyroid gland (mostly in the liver) the chances of a tablet of Armour Thyroid actually containing T1 and T2 could be fairly remote. One reference that mentioned something a ratio of something like 1 to 4000 -- so in a grain containing 38 mcg of T4 that doesn't leave much room for any T1 or T2, does it? Would I be right then in assuming that, like you - if you were a poor converter, and you were taking synthetic T4 only which you could not convert to T3 - then this would not produce RT3 and therefore no T2 or T1 either. Thank the lord I am taking Armour - we should surely push this aspect more.
