Question about blood tests

While at Wild Oats today stocking up on supplies I ran into another mommy with a child with food issues. She mentioned her son had finally had blood tests for food allergies. Has anyone had blood tests for food allergies (she mentioned soy, wheat, eggs, etc.)? Our two year old was supposedly diagnosed with egg allergy via a skin test but I still think there are other allergies that we haven't found. Who does the blood tests, pediatrician, allergist...? Are they accurate? Our infant daughter is also highly allergic to milk protein and possibly soy. Obviously we have some issues in our family : )

Thanks for any info!

Dabney, I have been told that blood tests for allergies are supposed to be accurate for anaphylactic (can cause death) ones, but the pin prick tests are considered more accurate for the other kinds of allergies.
