Guest guest
I have been experiencing problems for a few months. My Family physician and my OB/GYN have run several tests on me. All of my blood work was fine and my pelvic exam appeared to be normal. Last week I had a CT Scan done and it showed an abnormal uteris with a mass. The doctors believe I may have fibroids. I am scheduled for an ultrasound this Friday. My syptoms are: Water retention and swelling in my lower body, weight gain, legs aches and cramps, irregular cycles (late & becoming lighter), lower ab pain (similiar to period cramps), lower back pain, pain on my left side (which is now putting pressure on my kidney), night sweats and unbarable pain during intercourse. The sypmtoms are getting stronger each day. Do you think the doctors are on the right track??? If so, what can I do to become more informed. By the way I sleep on my left side. Guest guest
Sheri, I am going to leave the answering of your questions to some of the other ladies who have more knowledgable of and experienced with fibroids. I am still new to the group too. I just found out about my UF (uterine fibroid) in late February/early March. I joined the group shortly there after. I am still learning about UFs and their treatment. You did, however, mention that you sleep on your left side. I was wondering do you by chance know what side the " fibroid " or mass is on? Just wondering. Keep reading your e-mail. I am sure some of our UF expert ladies will have some good advice. They always do. Guest guest
Ruth, yes the mass is on the left side. Guest guest
Do you think that we are on to something? Worthy of further investigation? Discovered through this discussion group! The number of women reporting that they have fibroids predominantly on the same side that they sleep on is growing. As I said before, it is plausible to me that fibroids on that side grow more because the sleeping position could increase the blood flow to them. Not that it seems to affect other aspects of our growth patterns! I don't know what to make of Elise's situation: " I sleep on both sides (toss & turn), and I have fibroids on both sides! " side fibroid is on I sleep on my right side and my fibroid is on my right side.
Guest guest
Adenomyosis is endometriosis within the muscle wall of the uterus. It can cause intense knifelike pain and very heavy periods. > can somebody tell me what Adenomyosis means? > mimi
